Rachel's Spring Picture

The 4th Orr

Soooo, we now have a new addition to our family! Sydney Morgan Orr. Born March 16th at 8 lbs. 3 oz. and 20 inches long. She is a doll! I think she follows both sides of the family in a few different ways. The Rucker side because she's such a delight. And the Orr side because she's just laid back and seems to love life! Anyway, Rachel has had a blast so far being the big sis. Every morning (before school, this is summer time now), she would come in and pick Sydney up and take her into her room to play or just hang out before Rachel had to leave for school. In the afternoon's when Rachel would come home, the first thing she'd do is come in, drop her bags and say "Where's that cute little bundle of joy?". Even though Daddy tries to be a tough cookie, he's really a just a big teddy bear and Sydney has him wrapped like he never thought he would be! Ha-ha! Boy has his life changed! He should feel so lucky to have started raising Rachel first because she came already potty trained! We have a joke around here that the only difference between Rachel and Sydney is that Noah didn't have to change Rachel's diapers. I think the Lord has a reason for everything and Rachel definitly needed to come first! Noah is a the apple of her eye! He is such a good Dad to her.

Rachel was recently in a JCPenny store where she spotted the perfect Father's Day gift for Noah. She came home and told me about it and was soooo excited for me to go get it. I kind of thought for a second "Hmmm, I wonder how cheezy this will be?". Well after a week she was still very hooked on the idea that we get this for him so we took her over there to get it before she left for Texas. I was quite surprised that is was such a nice gift and when we took it to the register is rang up even cheaper than the "sale" price said. She was so happy to give it to him that she didn't want to wait to wrap and so she made him open it in the car! His reaction was great! He said "Oh! That's very cool!" Which you know when he says that he means it! She was so pleased and just exstatic that he loved it and that she picked it out for him. The smile on her face and giggle in her excitement was wonderful! What more could you ask for? That gift now sits on Noah's side table and makes it look so much more organized and clean. Nice job Rach!

As for Sydney, when she smiles at her dad he can't help but to smile back! It's sooo darling. It's so fun to watch how he is with her and I even make him hold her (on purpose) becuase I love watching them two interact. Where he was once a lonely bachelor with only a dog to keep him company, he now has the companionship of 3 beautiful females in his life. Though you may never hear if from him, he is completely in love with all of us too.

Time Goes by FAST

So the picture on the left is us the night before Sydney. The other picture is before Sydney also. That was just to show how big I got. Wow...I got pretty big. I haven't been on here in forever because I lost my blog happy spot for a while. I was sick and busy and lazy and didn't want to do anything.

The Sleepness Night Before the First Day of School Jitters

So Rachel started at a new school today! Yea!!! NO MORE OF THE OTHER DUMB SCHOOL!!! Anyway, my friend Kim is a Kindergarden teacher there and her daughter Ryan is Rachel's best friend! So thanks to my friend Kim, we were able to sign Rachel up into Rolling Meadows Elementary and we are all so really thrilled! She was so nervous and excited last night. She went to bed at 8:30 and about 9 I heard "Mom..." so I went in to see her for a minute. Then around 10 I heard "Mom...", so again, I checked on her. Then just after 10:30 Noah and I had finished a little bowl of cereal for our nightly snack and on my way to my room I heard "Mom...I can't sleep." Around 4:30 this morning, I felt Rachel touching my arm waking me up and saying "I can't get back to sleep." Of course I reassured her she would be fine and to wait for her alarm to wake her up..and she did! She used her own alarm for the first time! (It's so loud it woke us all up!)

My wonderful dinner...

I invited myself over to my friend Cami's house for dinner tonight! She has no idea how much it meant to me that I got to eat their food tonight! When I start feeling better I'll be giving more food to them again too.

A little baby happy...

I admit...I broke down yesterday and got a little baby happy and bought some clothes. They were all on sale of course and my friend Kim totally encouraged me that it was a good thing! Not to mention, one girl passed us up and heard us talking about when I'm due and out how old the baby will be this time next year. The girl passing us said "I have twins and I ALWAYS buy their clothes for next year NOW when they're on sale! I have saved so much $ doing it this way, especially for our budget with 4 children!" So obviously that helped me to justify every little bit of that $35 that I spent for the FUTURE! I don't feel guilty one bit! I'm so excited at my frugal spending. It's a great feeling! And it was soooo fun! Like I said, I got a little baby happy.

The Morning After Chili Dog Feast

I guess what I thought was a great dinner idea that tasted so heavenly actually has had a slight curse to my bowel system over night and this morning. My favorite canned WOLF BRAND CHILI always left me with a little gasiousness the next day. Now that I'm pregnant I thought I could get away with that. But NO! Monetzuma's revenge still exists! Last nights dinner was heavenly...and this morning it hasn't 'smelled' or felt so heavenly. I thought I found something that I could enjoy eating...but I guess that will have to be in moderation too. How many more weeks/months do I have left????
